 With The Quickness
Another quick update today. The world is eating my life! I made this art card this past weekend of my character Glyf and his nemesis Tusk behind him. These are the two characters from the mini comic im working on for the Art & Story Supreme Mini Comic challenge. I'm currently working on penciling page 10 of 16 and am hoping to get to the inking stage very shortly. I'm learning a ton through this challenge with a lot of help from the Art & Story Podcast and community. This Art Card was colored with my new Copic Markers which was suggested to me through an A&S Podcast by Mark Rudolph. Definately enjoying the new tool! Quick update here today! Just wanted to share with you guys this piece i did for someone who purchased some Custom Graffiti from me on Etsy. Hey Everyone! Just wanted to share with you guys some Art Cards i did for my etsy shop a couple months ago. These we're fun and also what was fun was making up the little 2 or 3 sentence background story's for each character. This one with the teeth's name is Joe Teef! E.T. Phone Home Joe Teef has a job at a theme park operating the "Romp A Whirl" that comes with a built in puke bucket in every cart. He was stranded on earth when his recreational space ship crashed on Planet Earf who's inhabitants had only a primitive understanding of space travel. Unfortunately he was too busy fooling around all the time when his uncle Ernie was trying to show him how to re build mechanical devices so he has no way to get back home. If you don't already know ATC's or ACEO's are small pieces of original or printed art that come in the standard size 2.5 x 3.5 which is the same as a baseball card. They are very addictive and fun to collect, create and trade and they can be made in any style or media you can think of as long as they fit the size requirement. Him and I have started this monthly ATC (Artist Trading Card) thing where we pick a theme and create a card to trade and send it to each other via snail mail. So far we're 3 months in. This is the first months trade. The theme was anthropomorphized food.
The top Card is Rob's card he did 'Love Me Tender' a Elvis character made out ground beef. LOL I love it!!! On the bottom is mine and he's a swashbuckling swordfish. Was definately fun! Believe it or not it gets me to actually draw. Its wierd i consider myself an artist but until recently drawing isnt something i do on a regular basis. I'm hoping to change that to a daily practice. Hey everyone just wanted to do a little update! I did this little drawing of a locust hangin from a stop sign the other day just on a whim trying to stay productive. No big concept just a locust hangin :) If you are wondering what my constant obsession with locusts is it's because my Hip Hop crew is called Shadow of the Locust which was originally envisioned by Dirt the founder when reading Joel Chapter 2 from the bible one day.
